Jon Ervin is a New York based photographer. Originally from Oklahoma, Ervin is currently pursuing a MFA in Photography at the School of Visual Arts.

In his latest body of work, Ervin who grew up in a small town, investigates what he acknowledges as conventional notions of American masculinity. Floating between what Ervin understands to be his childhood and adulthood, the images feel familiar. These habits and rituals that Ervin conveys in his images, depict a sense of malevolence and persistent homoeroticism.
