Kolbrun is a Brooklyn and Reykjavík based artist. She likes to make images and installations in space and digital space. She likes to think about and explore contemporary trends in relation to art, the image as an object of fetish in digital culture, and also stuff that’s not digital at all.
Kolbrun’s work touches on the aesthetics of digital decay, landscape and how it affects the human form. While Kolbrun often makes photographs that capture moments from her everyday life, she also manufactures computer generated animations. Kolbrun does not necessarily work in series, but the two distinct types of images that she creates in her practice work together to create a perspective that is undoubtedly contemporary.
