5×5 features five photographs from five photographers selected by a guest editor.
Matthew Leifheit recently curated a widely successful exhibition at Camera Club of New York as part of the CCNY’s curatorial residency. Titled “What You Want“, the exhibition features: Bobby Doherty, Sara Cwynar, Raphael Cohen, Thomas Albdorf and Trey Wright.
For this edition of 5X5 Matthew, with summer in his mind, has selected the works of Cole Don Kelly, Corey Olsen, Richard Kern, Rachel Stern and Osma Harvilahti.
Matthew Leifheit is an independent photographer, writer, and curator based in New York City. Having studied at the Rhode Island School of Design and Spéos, Paris, he writes on art and photography for TIME Magazine’s Lightbox blog, Art Fag City, the Camera Club of New York, and is a contributing editor to the blog Feature Shoot.
He is Editor-in-Chief of MATTE Magazine, an independent publication that functions as a platform for good ideas. MATTE is sold at Printed Matter and collected by the Museum of Modern Art library in New York.
