Victoria Maidhof is a photographer based in San Francisco. With her husband, Maidhof lives in a small beach community near San Diego.
“Adventures with Patty” compiles a series of images featuring Maidhof herself and a mysterious, charming old woman, who we would assume is named Patty. Without much context to the identity of Patty, Maidhof presents us with attempts that the women engage in to become friends. Seeing each other as an escape from isolation, Maidhof and Patty try to create a meaningful relationship through various activities.
