Laura Campbell: Images from Eastern Sierra and Death Valley

Laura Campbell is old school, in all the good ways. The founder for Eastern Sierra Center for Photography (ESC4P), Campbell passion lies in the fading art of large format photography.

Campbell is fascinated by the desert and the wilderness. Shot in black and white, the images from Eastern Sierra and Death Valley are sombre and masterfully crafted. Rich hues of greys and blacks imbue Campbell’s photographs with a painterly atmosphere that reminds us of the magic that large format photography can do.

Nice work but they aren’t “painterly” Painters WISH they had this much detail and a sense of framing. Laura can drive that camera!
