I’ve been a fan of Rollin Leonard‘s work for the longest time. Leonard is not a photographer in a strict sense. More of a net artist, Leonard utilizes basic photographic techniques, elaborate calculations and a mix of accessible technology to distort the human body.
Leonard has been exploring the concept of highly composite numbers. Using the numbers as a basic guide, Leonard then divides the bodies and faces of his subjects (which includes himself) in eerie videos, digital collage and (my favorite!) plexiglass installations.
The images in this post include his solo exhibition last October at Transfer Gallery, Brooklyn.
