Maciek Jasik: Bypassing the Rational

Maciek Jasik has been experimenting with portraiture since 2009. Originally from Poland, Jasik is interested in the emotional aspect of a portrait photograph, instead of the surface. In his works Jasik obscures much of the detail of his subject’s face or physical appearance. Instead, Jasik strives to capture a certain psychological drama within the people he photographs.

Bypassing the Rational” was exhibited as part of Jasik’s solo exhibition at Dan Cooney gallery in 2012
