Rachel Stern: Untitled Studio Works

Rachel Stern is an artist and photographer currently living in Providence, Rhodes Island.

Stern sees her work as an “escapist fantasy.” Entirely shot in camera, Stern’s work shies away from the trend of digital collage. The act of curating everyday objects to create a realm of opulent, bigger than life, paradise contributes to Stern’s drive in creating these images. Stern wanted to impose an undercurrent of tension between banality and fantasy that these everyday objects  may metaphorically suggest.

Her work is currently part of an amazing show at Daniel Cooney Fine Art. “All the World’s A Stage” is up for viewing until May 22nd. The show also features the works of Benjamin Fredrickson and Bear Kirkpatrick.
