Malcolm Easton: Restorations

Focusing on fragile domestic objects, I explore the aesthetics of breakage and repair. I use unconventional – often whimsical — repair techniques. Through lighting I try to emphasize the induced irregularities, the harsh edges and the missing fragments. My camera captures an impression of the current state, which is a work in progress. The piece may hold together or fall apart.
