Jonny Abraham‘s “Rust Prevention” is a photographic series that document the traces of graffiti in New York City. Shot with an analog 35mm, “Rust Prevention” invokes a sense of nostalgia for street culture that used to be more visible on the surfaces of the street of New York.
A sense of muted conflict is in Abraham’s images. Two forces at at odds with each other: rebellious youth and the march of gentrification. “Rust Prevention” is a documentation of the engagement of these two beings that are constantly consuming one another.
