Ke Peng is a photographer who is based in Providence, Rhode Island.
[Ke Peng] is interested in the relationships between animals and human beings, and how much has been forced on and taken from animals by people. Human beings keep projecting themselves on to animals, the deducted and simplified versions of themselves, who are a lot easier to deal with. We love them because they love us no matter what. It speaks so much about Narcissism, and failures in humanities.
Focusing on this idea, Peng’s photographs document presences of animals within the human’s sphere of artificial constructs. Feng combines studio images and elements found out in the world. Peng’s calculated colour palette strain the relationship between man and beasts even further – as her images bring to surface our disconnection with nature.
