Kirsten Hixson

We Used To Be” is Kirsten Hixson’s haunting beauty. With photographs of vastness and dead ends, Hixson uses desolate places as a passage to link her past and present to trigger her narratives.

Growing up in the mountains of Tennessee and away from (seemingly) mainstream commercialism, Hixson borrows her surrounding landscape to create images of muted consumption.
